Building Scalable and High-Performing Experiences 

For more than 50 years, the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) has provided resources, knowledge, and advocacy to help professionals take on higher education’s ever-changing challenges. They came to AgencyQ to break out of a cycle of constant and expensive website upgrades, which they found challenging, but knew were necessary for remaining competitive and maintaining a secure digital experience. 

Speeding up this need for change was the fact that the version of Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) they were on was no longer going to be supported. In addition, they needed to deal with an outdated search functionality that was not user-friendly. 

In looking at the issues NACUBO needed to solve, it was clear to AgencyQ that moving away from XP to Sitecore’s Experience Manager Cloud (XM Cloud) was going to be the right call. It offers continuous, backward-compatible feature rollouts, which eliminates the need for the upgrades that were such a pain point. And as a headless, composable system—that is, built of small components that can be mixed and matched depending on where they are used—XM Cloud is more than an upgrade; it is a strategic overhaul of the digital experience infrastructure that represents a significant shift towards a more flexible, scalable and efficient digital ecosystem.

To solve the search issue, Sitecore Search was paired with XM Cloud to provide an organized and optimized search experience across NACUBO’s digital assets. 

The introduction of XM Cloud has provided the team at NACUBO with an easier, faster content creation experience using the WYSIWYG editor that is built into the “pages” feature. Additionally, Sitecore Search is providing enhanced speed and user engagement—and, most importantly, delivering relevant search results.
